He forgot to mention the TPP.

I think the media is working hard to distract from the spying, just like they did during previous revelations. they focus exclusively on Snowden and the personalities involved in the story, such as Putin, Correa, Maduro, and Assange. Absolutely no one was paying attention to Syria anyway. I think part of the reason that this story is so huge is it offers a chance to sell the surveillance state as something that should be cherished and that protects americans. Also a large part is that the media loves a chase, this is like a long drawn out Branco chase.

I just can't believe the hypocrisy of those who have stood up to say: "he broke the law and should be punished."
What?! Now they say that. What about punishing the Bush administration, Obama, Congress, Intelligence agencies, the military, bankers, CEOs...? I mean give me a break. Things are so upside down at this point that only suckers still play by the rules. This is not about laws made by a defunct government, this is about what kind of world we want to inhabit. Laws are meaningless if they are only used to lie, cheat, and steal. Did you see that the Obama administration is trying to undo parts of FOIA so they can deny the existence of secret documents. These guys are blatant liars and no one seems to care. James Clapper committed perjury and nothing happened...
The MSM would be a joke if so many weren't still caught up in its narrative, life-meaning generator. There is an Orwellian level of doublethink occurring in the minds of the masses. Truly terrifying in its capacity to obliterate truth and human progress.
Have you seen the theories about Snowden being an agent, still on the CIA payroll? Ideas range from an intelligence agency turf war to this all being part of a ploy to further separate the willing drones of the state from what will become "the resistance."
The genius of the coverage is as you say, to cause people to find Snowden a criminal and delegitimize his revelations. Also to repeat over and over the brainwashing mantra: "If you have nothing to hide, then you have nothing to fear."
Meanwhile, secret negotiations are taking place to undo hard-won worker protections and environmental regulations, not to mention the end of the free internet. The TPP gets a luxurious media blackout.
Oh yeah, and the start of WW3, what a non-story, ha!
