I just downloaded this earlier in the week, but I haven't tried it out yet. Sounds awesome.

Update: I played with the app at our house and unfortunately, or actually fortunately, I didn't find anything interesting around my house. I don't know to what degree it looks into connections i.e. board members, financial holdings, etc...).

We are already aware of the consolidated corporate monopolies that control most of what is available in the supermarket and try to minimize processed food in general. The best move is to share this app with others who have yet to embark on the mission to learn the truth behind the packaging. This is an example of technology democratizing the marketplace. and it has the potential to dramatically impact the bottom line of many megacorporations. I haven't heard of any efforts to combat this information-sharing. I wonder what they will come up with to hide their control over our food choices next. " I'm glad your barcodes are benign", hey thats a great slogan! Perhaps their next move is to move their ownership into the harder to track realm of board members and the like. Even that information can be ferreted-out, and will be, if this app can help build the movement. Caveat: is it better to boycott these corporations outright or support them as they transform their products to align themselves with an increasingly aware population? Is it better to be one more person who can afford to shop at Whole Foods or to buy from the "natural food" isle at the conventional (read: toxic) supermarket? I often wonder which makes more of an impact...
